B. Mariano

is an independent researcher and transmedia artist based in Manila. Her works mostly deal with historical archives, technology, fragments, ellipses… and the personal. Currently, she is interested in translation in language and in experimental and hybrid art forms.

She was lucky enough to have become a fellow in the 14th Ateneo National Writers Workshop for a piece that juxtaposed photographs and poetry. A couple of her video art pieces were screened as part of ReFrame: Manila at the opening of the London Biennale Manila Pollination in Escolta, and in Lost Frames’ Stop. Motion.

She is most proud of the work she did for Back to Square 1/Juan’s community-based art project, Off-Site/Out of Sight, where, by being among children, she learned how to become a child again.
